Biographies
Sasha White, the visionary founder of the Campaign for the Earth, was invited to speak at the United Nations on Earth Day, April 22, 1990 during a reception for the astronauts and cosmonauts and again before the General Assembly on World Environment Day, June 5, 1990.
As she described "the Campaign is a vision of hope, inspiring individuals to take personal responsibility and action for the condition of our planet earth." ..."There is enough technology on our planet to solve every problem we are facing... what we must do is accept personal responsibility and take a stand for making necessary changes on our planet.
Marilyn Ashby is a community advocate in multi-issue organizations with extensive participation locally, regionally and nationally. Her UN focus began in 1994 with NGO participation at the World Summit on Social Development, drawing on her volounteer experience at the Social Planning Network of Ontario, Canada.
Pauline Cantwell is an experienced global advocate for a peaceful world and is an NGO representative to the UN in New York City for Peace Action USA.
John Maskells has a Bachelor of Science (Engineering), a Masters Degree in Applied Environmental Studies, and a PhD in Geography, which focused on the values change required for humanity to achieve its goal of sustainable development.
Christopher Mwakesege is an economic activist seeking international legal and institutional means to achieve a global community that is free of war, environmentally healthy and economically sound. He has consulted to OECD, World Bank and the World Council of Churches.
Charles Purdy is a dedicated local to global community activist with a strong attendance record at the annual DPI Conference in New York. For many years he has reported on NGO concerns to various representatives of the Canadian Government.
Ragnar Ahlstrom Soderling, PhD is a senior lecturer and researcher in Entrepreneurship and Industrial Management at the University of Dalarna, Borlange, Sweden. In 2003, he was invited to speak at a workshop arranged by the Ministry of Economic Development in New Zealand, in accordance to an OECD workgroup meeting regarding Best Practices research. He is one of the founders of the Campaign for the Earth. He participates extensively in the International Council of Small Business.
